GMS was formed in 2005 with the aim of supplying and installing kitchens for domestic clients in and around North Wales and was formerly known as GM Kitchens.
Since that time the company, product range and services offered have expanded extensively. GMS now offers more than just kitchen installations for domestic clients, they offer full renovations for domestic and commercial clients in North Wales, Cheshire and beyond. GMS started in Gareth's home in Ffynnongroyw - his garage was his office and workshop for many of years before the business began diversifying.
2016 marked a turning point for them, Gareth employed Ali who has a BSc Honours Degree in Business Management from the prestigious Business School at Cardiff University, to assist with the running of his business and from there the business went from strength to strength. Freeing up his time spent on estimates and invoices meant Gareth was able to spend more time on site than working all hours of the day and night to get estimates out to potential clients. The company was bought into the 21st Century with estimates being sent via email with a professional structure and the business evolving on to social media and the world wide web.
In 2017, GMS moved into their first business premises but due to rapidly expanding, by December 2019, GMS was moving business premises again - this time to Mostyn Road Business Park in Llanerch-y-mor. However, the move was only ever going to be temporary and in October 2020, GMS purchased a property which could meet the needs of the business in terms of space and image. GMS purchased The Old Point of Ayr Brass Band Room in Ffynnongroyw, a beautiful late 1800's stone built converted chapel with a sentimental connection. Gareth's late father James Mealor was a member of the Brass Band and was a trustee from 1983 until his sudden death in 2012.
GMS currently employs an Apprentice, a labourer, an administrator and subcontracts work to an NICEIC registered electrician and Gas Safe registered engineer. However, GMS are going to be expanding their business further in 2021 with employment opportunities available to kitchen and bathroom installers, so keep your eyes peeled.
